Rancocas Woods Co-op, My Spot!

This past year was a start for a new life for me. It did take me that long to understand the business I'm in.

First of all you have to understand the product your selling. You can't be too personal with it. Meaning, don't go obtaining things "you" are interested in. It's what the public wants. Understand the field. Which for my is Retro-Vintage. It understand the timeline. I lived it. So, it's way easier for me to find
.
But there is somethings like "high end" stuff, I have to actually study the product individually. You can't get lazy. Information comes in the form of books, magazines, other sellers, antiques shows, Internet, garage sales, even TV.  You can't go around carrying a book with you (notes, yes). You have to get a very keen eye developed.

My spot at Rancocas Woods in Mt. Laurel, NJ is a perfect start for me. It's small, but I can grow. Maybe to even to get my own store. It's just the real beginning, starting now.

Getting My Feet Wet!

So I opened a tiny stall for myself at a Craft Co-op not far from where I live. It's a start, no complaints. But, it's only my Retro Vintage that I'm selling.
The jewelry and crafts have to wait. "One thing at a time", I'm always telling myself.
What's interesting in this field is one thing. People still don't get the idea - Retro Vintage. To explain it a little clearer, it's stuff that you can live in your house with and use. To really truly decorate and enjoy it at the same time.  Not something you buy and cover or tell your kids not to touch. It's like comfort food that you sit and live in.
The other thing that funny is: People don't get that they can still buy brand new pieces. Whether it's art or furniture. Mix and Blend, with colors too. Not so Matchy Matchy.  It's makes you home more who you really are to yourself and others.
Just recently I had a woman email me and said, "Is your place in a flea market?". Yeah, it's old but interesting stuff. How I see it, she wasn't looking that closely. She didn't get it.
I'll be writing up on some individual piece that I have . And the new ones that I'll be getting in from time to time.

Welcome to Sparrow Peak! A Start to a New Adventure!

So, here I am at the start at the beginning of a new venture in my life. It's not up and running. But, just a few more tweets and I'm in.
Been to a couple of Crafts Shows. And it's nice to meet people in person and all . But, I need to have my shop running year round. I've been thinking of have my first Special Event to come up maybe in Feb. or March. We shall see.
